The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking an individual for the position of Project Management Specialist (Health) for the Office of Health and Education (OHE).
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
The incumbent will provide policy, strategic, technical, programming, and budgetary guidance to the Office of Health and Education’s (OHE) estimated $8M Health Portfolio. The specialist will collaborate with colleagues, government counterparts and implementing partners in assigned aspects of USAID assistance in the health sectors. S/he will collaborate with units of the Government of Nicaragua (GON) that plan and manage health programs, including the Ministry of Health, Social Security Institutions, National Institute of Statistics and Census, NGOs, universities and other donors.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Note: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
University degree in public health or a related field.
A minimum of eight years of experience in the analysis, design, management and implementation of child survival, nutrition and/or family health programs. Experience in coordinating programs with bilateral and multilateral donors as well as in-country counterparts in Ministries of Health and related government institutions working with the social sectors.
Level IV: in both English and Spanish, written and spoken is required. This will be tested.
A thorough knowledge of the host country economic, political, social and cultural characteristics and of history of development assistance activities in the host country is also required. Also a thorough knowledge of the concepts, principles, techniques, and practices of the professional field to which assigned.
Skills: computer skills, excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated team experience, strong analytical and data analysis, and the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
