Ambassador Paul A. Trivelli
Paul A. Trivelli

Ambassador Paul Trivelli entered the Foreign Service in 1978 and for most of his career has served as an Economic/Commercial Officer. He has been posted to Mexico City, the Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, Quito, Panama City, El Salvador, Monterrey and Managua. From 1998 to 2002, Ambassador Trivelli served as Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Tegucigalpa, Honduras . He was Director of the Office of Central American Affairs from July 2002 to November 2003. He then served as director of the office of Policy Planning and Coordination in the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs from November 2003 until August of 2005. Ambassador Trivelli presented his credentials to President Enrique Bolanos Geyer on September 9th, 2005.

Ambassador Trivelli holds a B.A. in biology from Williams College (1974), and an M.A. in International Relations from the University of Denver (1978) and an M.A. in National Security Studies from the Naval War College (1996).

Born in New York , New York in 1953, Ambassador Trivelli is currently a resident of Virginia. He is married to the former Evangelina Valle of Mexico City. He has two children, Carlos Antonio and Daniela.
